Cremation

Funeral Home Arrangements, Pre Funeral Arrangements The enclosed body is placed in the cremation chamber where through heat and evaporation the body is reduced to its basic elements, which are referred to as cremated remains. Ashes are not the final result since cremated remains have neither the appearance nor the chemical properties of ashes- they are, in fact, bone fragments. After preparation, these elements are either placed in a permanent urn or in a temporary container that is suitable for transporting to a specified site. Depending upon size of the body, remains generally weigh between three to nine pounds. Cremation of the body is final. The process will be explained. Our Funeral Directors are trained to help you understand the options available to you. Whether you select a direct cremation or a viewing with a cremation, we can accommodate you. Burial

(Interment) the act of placing a deceased human body into a grave chamber. We have an array of special services from which a family may select to create a momentous final tribute. Our staff is a group of experienced, trained professionals who can handle all aspects of a final disposition. We understand the emotional state of a bereaved family. At Risko Ferguson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services we acknowledge that different faiths and religions may call for different burial rites. Therefore, our staff will readily adapt services to meet the clients preferred standards for a religious or secular ceremony.

Entombment

The act of placing human remains in a crypt, vault, or tomb (in a Mausoleum). This service is also called an above ground burial. Like cremation and burial we can assist a family in the creation of an entombment service that is dignified and memorable.

DEATH AWAY FROM HOME

When a death occurs away from home or out of town, we handle all arrangements. If death occurs away from your residence and services are to be held elsewhere, with the assistance of another Funeral Director, we can coordinate the necessary transportation to assure that your loved one is funeralized in the desired place.

DEATH CERTIFICATE AND CERTIFIED COPIES

A death certificate is a permanent record of death. It contains the cause of death signed by a doctor, vital statistics supplied by the family, disposition information and the signature of the funeral director. This death certificate is filed for a burial, cremation, or removal permit. The original is filled in the town where death occurred and additional copies are obtained from that town. Fees may vary by the city or state where the death occurred

 During the funeral arrangements, tell your Funeral Director the number of certified copies of the death certificate.

SOCIAL SECURITY

The current death benefit for social security is $255; this amount is only payable to a surviving spouse or dependent child. In some instances, the surviving spouse’s benefit may increase. If there are dependent children who are under 18 or over 18 but enrolled in school full-time, there are usually benefits paid for or to these children. LIFE INSURANCE

At Risko Ferguson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, we guide you through the life insurance claims process step by step. If you are the beneficiary of an insurance policy and need assistance with completing a death claim, simply bring your policy to our office. We will explain the procedures. Generally, we process an entire claim on our client’s behalf at no additional cost.

	Doves - Doves released at your loved one’s gravesite can create an everlasting memory and aid the family in coping with the loss of a loved one.
	Video Tribute - This may be a collection of your favorite photographs. This can be accompanied by music. The video will be played during your loved one’s funeral service. It will be a lasting keepsake.
